Near white flowers on 24in scapes. Leaves are thick, rich dark blue, deeply cupped and heavily corrugated. In fact, no other hosta boasts such deeply cupped leaves. Depth of the leaf cupping can be up to 4in and the powdery gray underside of the leaves is often visible because of the cupping. Named so, because a dog was seen drinking water from one of the leaves. Light to full shade. Slug resistant.

With golden yellow leaves, this is the perfect specimen for making a statement in the shade with its upright spreading habit and large smooth leaves. In midsummer, near white, tubular flowers appear with a very faint pale lavender central pattern on the interior petals. Plant in morning sun or filtered shade for best yellow color.

This new selection, backed by phenomenal lineage, really has that “WOW!in factor! ‘Autumn Frost’ is a sport of the 2010 Hosta of the Year, ‘First Frost’, which in turn is a sport of the champion of blue hostas, ‘Halcyon’. It is a showier version of ‘First Frost’, displaying extra wide margins. The leaves emerge frosty blue with a bright yellow margin that lightens to creamy white during the summer. It forms a medium sized mound topped with light lavender flowers in mid to late summer.
